Muslamic Makers: Machine Learning and Tech Series: Kick Off Session!

The session is the first in a series of demystifying and opening up our understanding of Machine Learning and Tech.

An opportunity to meet and network with other Muslims currently working in, interested in, and complete beginners in the tech industry.

The session is the first in a series of demystifying and opening our understanding of Machine Learning and Tech.

We will cover an overview of what is Machine Learning. The key terms, concepts, and relatable examples. The session will be led by Sadiya Salim, a Data Analytics Manager at BT.

We are being hosted by QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey – the AI (Artificial Intelligence) arm of McKinsey. We will have a Q&A and career journey session with Nayur Khan, Yusra Ibrahim, and Mohamed Abusaid.

– Nayur is a Partner at McKinsey, working within QuantumBlack, and is also QuantumBlack’s lead on Diversity and Inclusion. He has over 20 years of experience leading and delivering complex technology projects, products, and solutions. Outside of work, Nayur is passionate about mentoring and supporting young people in their careers.

– Yusra is Machine Learning Site Reliability Engineer at Google and a QuantumBlack-alumni. She is also co-leading the Muslims@London community at Google. She has over ten years of experience in the tech industry and ML research. She obtained her Ph.D. in NLP from Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik; and her Master’s degree from Paris 6 University. Outside of work, Yusra is passionate about mentoring people in their early tech careers. In addition, she is an avid scuba diver.

– Mohamed is an Associate Partner at McKinsey, working within QuantumBlack, and co-leads a technical delivery function. He has over ten years of experience delivering complex technology projects, products, and solutions. Outside of work, Mohamed is passionate about food, travel, and the impact technology and AI has on society.

We would love for you to attend and gain an insight into Machine Learning and Tech – we hope to engage and inspire Muslims to learn more about this field and upskill.
