Over the last six years, WeAreTheCity has been celebrating Rising Stars in a range of industries. They are the first to focus on the achievements of women who are the next generation of future leaders.

We are so excited to see that so many of the women who have been shortlisted in the Technology category are members of Coding Black Females, and are actively driving change in the industry.

Eneni Bambara-Abban

Eneni is a robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineer, she has been a member of Coding Black Females since 2019. She would travel to London from Brighton and attend our events. She was part of the Black Women in Gaming Event last year where she spoke about the Future of Gaming.

Georgia Yexley

Georgia is a huge believer in collaboration and partnership and is dedicated to making a positive change in the tech industry by increasing the representation of underrepresented groups. Last year, she contacted Coding Black Females to ensure that she was able to provide a platform for Black women in the tech industry and inviting us to speak at her events.

Kathryn Tingle

Kathryn Tingle is a Senior Technical Programme Manager at Sainsbury’s, sitting in tech leadership. Over the years, Kathryn has led huge transformation programmes and is excited about helping to change the tech stack of the business to a more nimble, agile and intuitive stack, reducing systems complexity and tech debt.

Kathryn has been a great member of Coding Black Females, both attending our events and speaking at them. She spoke at our ‘Changing Your Path to Tech’ event, which has had a huge impact on YouTube and on our podcast.

Suze Shardlow

Suze has impacted the lives of over 10,000 women in coding through her tech community work. She is a Chapter Lead at Ladies of Code London and Europe Lead for Global Diversity CFP Day 2021, which prepares people from underrepresented groups to submit their first conference talk proposal. Suze has been a great asset to Coding Black Females providing support and ensuring our opportunities reach far and wide.
